Some codes clear on their own after an hour. ALM 1, ALM 5 and ALM 6 need a manual heat demand reset, which usually means adjusting the thermostat so it calls for heat again. Doing that once is reasonable. Doing it repeatedly is not, because the unit is telling you something is wrong and each reset buys another hour rather than a fix.
